The Retreat will bring together tennis enthusiasts, supporters and community members for its annual Nancy Cohn Memorial Love-All Against Abuse Tennis Tournament on Saturday, July 11, at Sportime Amagansett, raising funds to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking across the East End.
The event, scheduled from 2 to 5:30 p.m., will honor the Cohn family — Evan Cohn, Lisa Schweitzer and their children — in memory of Nancy and Myron Cohn. Nancy Cohn was a founding board member of The Retreat, and her family’s longstanding philanthropy has played a vital role in helping the organization expand and sustain its services for individuals and families in crisis.
The afternoon will feature a clinic-style tennis experience led by Sportime Amagansett professionals, with participants grouped by skill level for instruction, drills and friendly competition. Following play, guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a live auction featuring exclusive experiences and sports packages, including a stay for two at Canyon Ranch Resort, a private catamaran sail and VIP tickets to New York Knicks, New York Giants and Gotham FC games.
A silent auction offering travel, wellness, fashion and entertainment experiences is also open for bidding ahead of the event and will conclude at 5:30 p.m. on July 11.
“The Nancy Cohn Memorial Love-All Against Abuse Tennis Tournament is one of our most cherished traditions — a day that brings our community together in the spirit of generosity, friendship and purpose,” said Cate Carbonaro, the executive director of The Retreat. “Proceeds from this event support survivors of domestic violence, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who makes this event possible.”
The event welcomes both players and nonplayers, giving supporters multiple opportunities to participate while contributing to The Retreat’s mission.
Funds raised will support the organization’s comprehensive services, including its 24-hour multilingual hotline, emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, prevention education and fatherhood training programs. The Retreat provides safety, shelter and support to survivors throughout the East End while working to prevent violence through education and community outreach.
Registration begins at 2 p.m., with on-court activities running from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and the live auction will follow from 4 to 5:30 p.m., when the silent auction also closes.
