I’ve always felt that the best songs seem to flow out of you effortlessly. That was the case with You Will Be Okay.

After spending time with members of The Retreat staff earlier this year and meeting some of the most amazing, resilient, courageous survivors they have helped along the way, I knew this song had to be something special in order to pay homage to the wonderful work The Retreat does.

I wanted to help shine a light on the strength that each and every survivor possesses within and spread a message of hope and empowerment. I’d like to give a special thanks to Jaret Martino, who connected me with The Retreat as well as the two other amazingly talented artists on the project, Raquel Castro and Erik Delong. This was a collaborative effort and I couldn’t have done it without them.

We went into this project knowing what emotions we wanted to capture and what story we wanted to tell and I hope that everyone out there can find something to connect to within this song. Music has always been such a healing tool for me and I feel that when I’m stuck or unable to express an emotion, sometimes it’s easier to sing, play, dance it out. So, let’s heal together and continue to lift each other up through the dark and the light.
