February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). In honor of TDVAM The Retreat is working to promote teen voices, and raise awareness about the dating abuse that teens experience. Throughout the month and as Valentine’s Day approaches, it is important to empower youth by advocating for meaningful and inclusive conversations about healthy relationships, built on mutual love, respect, and trust. Please share our resources with anyone you think could use them.
Join The Retreat for this free community workshop to learn how to provide safety and support to those experiencing domestic abuse. Recognize the warning signs and dynamics of abusive relationships, understand the dos and don’ts of supporting survivors, and learn about the wide range of free and confidential services at The Retreat and other agencies. Registration required.
We are thrilled to partner with SHAN in East Hampton Village, which will host a shopping event February 10-13th, with 10% of sales going to The Retreat. SHAN is known for its high-end resort wear with a refined style and exclusive prints. Don’t miss out!
The Retreat invites high school students to participate in our Teen Leadership Council online training program via Zoom, on Wednesdays from 6-7pm. It will run from January 18-March 1. Students earn Community Service Hours for participation, as they become youth ambassadors for The Retreat to help prevent abuse and promote respect in all relationships!
