Mi experiencia como trabajadora social en el \u00e1mbito de la violencia dom\u00e9stica comenz\u00f3 cuando trabajaba con familias que anteriormente no ten\u00edan vivienda. La mayor\u00eda de mis clientes hab\u00edan sufrido alg\u00fan tipo de violencia dom\u00e9stica o sexual antes de quedarse sin vivienda. Cuando se me present\u00f3 la oportunidad de trabajar en la prevenci\u00f3n de la violencia sexual en las comunidades, no lo dud\u00e9. Prevenir la violencia sexual y dom\u00e9stica a nivel comunitario me ha permitido ser creativa a la hora de llegar a socios no tradicionales, como bares y restaurantes. He conocido a muchas personas incre\u00edbles que trabajan en la vida nocturna y que realmente se preocupan por su comunidad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabemos que la violencia dom\u00e9stica y sexual est\u00e1 muy extendida, y que centrarse en las experiencias de los supervivientes es importante incluso a nivel comunitario. A lo largo de los a\u00f1os hemos podido colaborar con grupos como Lady Brewster<\/a>s<\/a> y Queerli Social. Estas colaboraciones nos han ayudado a llegar a mucha gente que quiere prevenir la violencia en los espacios de ocio nocturno. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creo que lo que m\u00e1s me gusta ahora mismo de ser trabajadora social en el \u00e1mbito de la violencia dom\u00e9stica es la posibilidad de colaborar con personas de todos los entornos y espacios que se unen para lo mismo: la seguridad de la comunidad, la posibilidad de mostrarnos como somos y de encontrar la alegr\u00eda en espacios comunitarios como la vida nocturna. Siempre est\u00e1 evolucionando. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
