El mi\u00e9rcoles 27 de abril, millones de personas en todo el pa\u00eds llevar\u00e1n pantalones vaqueros, no s\u00f3lo para hacer una declaraci\u00f3n de moda, sino para hacer una declaraci\u00f3n social. Los que llevan vaqueros se solidarizan con los supervivientes de la violencia sexual, se comprometen a educarse a s\u00ed mismos y a otros sobre el tema, y trabajan para desafiar las ideas err\u00f3neas que rodean la violencia sexual. Esto se conoce como Denim Day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Denim Day comenz\u00f3 con la historia de una mujer. En 1998, el Tribunal Supremo italiano anul\u00f3 una condena por violaci\u00f3n porque la v\u00edctima llevaba unos vaqueros ajustados. Los jueces consideraron que, como los vaqueros eran tan ajustados, ella deb\u00eda haber ayudado al agresor a quit\u00e1rselos, lo que implicaba su consentimiento. Al d\u00eda siguiente, enfurecidas por este veredicto, las mujeres del parlamento italiano acudieron al trabajo con pantalones vaqueros para solidarizarse con la superviviente. En los 24 a\u00f1os transcurridos desde entonces, una peque\u00f1a protesta local se ha convertido en un movimiento nacional.
