El estado de Nueva York define a un superviviente de la violencia dom\u00e9stica como alguien cuya pareja actual o anterior hace una serie de cosas para controlarla. A veces, el control puede empezar de forma peque\u00f1a y ser muy sutil, pero casi siempre se intensifica con el tiempo y forma parte de un patr\u00f3n m\u00e1s amplio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Como aprend\u00ed al responder a la l\u00ednea de ayuda en El Retiro, hay muchos <a href=\"https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/es\/types-of-abuse\/\">tipos de abuso<\/a>y la mayor\u00eda de los supervivientes experimentan m\u00faltiples formas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por supuesto, el m\u00e1s obvio es el abuso f\u00edsico, que incluye la agresi\u00f3n y el abuso sexual. A menudo, los agresores que abusan de sus parejas f\u00edsicamente, tambi\u00e9n abusan de ellas sexualmente y el agresor no discrimina a qui\u00e9n elige como v\u00edctima. Las estad\u00edsticas nacionales dicen que 1 de cada 5 mujeres sufrir\u00e1 una violaci\u00f3n a lo largo de su vida y 1 de cada 5 hombres sufrir\u00e1 violencia sexual distinta de la violaci\u00f3n. Como se puede imaginar, el da\u00f1o fisiol\u00f3gico a largo plazo del abuso sexual puede causar todas las formas de problemas de salud mental para un sobreviviente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Financial-ABuse.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5579\" width=\"257\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Financial-ABuse.png 350w, https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Financial-ABuse-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Financial-ABuse-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Financial-ABuse-12x12.png 12w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 257px) 100vw, 257px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00bfSab\u00edas que el 94-99% de los supervivientes de la violencia dom\u00e9stica tambi\u00e9n han sufrido alg\u00fan tipo de abuso financiero?<\/strong> Muchos maltratadores tratan de impedir que sus parejas trabajen o vayan a la escuela para evitar que tengan independencia econ\u00f3mica. Por desgracia, este control es la raz\u00f3n por la que muchas supervivientes permanecen en una relaci\u00f3n, vi\u00e9ndose obligadas a elegir entre una vida de abusos o una vida de pobreza e incluso <a href=\"https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/es\/homelessness-among-women\/\">sin hogar<\/a> es una decisi\u00f3n dif\u00edcil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El maltrato psicol\u00f3gico, que es uno de los tipos m\u00e1s sutiles, puede causar problemas de salud mental a largo plazo. Muchas personas que sufren este tipo de abuso tienen depresi\u00f3n, TEPT e incluso ideas suicidas y a menudo necesitan asesoramiento a largo plazo para superar sus pensamientos negativos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tambi\u00e9n hay formas muy sutiles de controlar a la pareja que pueden ser comportamientos abusivos.
