UNICEF califica la violencia dom\u00e9stica en la infancia como \"uno de los problemas de derechos humanos m\u00e1s generalizados de nuestro tiempo\" y, sin embargo, no se reconoce adecuadamente.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/allagainstabuse.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/boy-with-fingers-in-ears-as-parents-fight.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5482\" width=\"254\" height=\"254\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es importante reconocer si t\u00fa o un ser querido o un amigo crecieron con VD?  Es necesario \"desaprender las mentiras\" y comprender lo que realmente sucedi\u00f3 y que estuvo mal. Cuando las personas \"codifican creencias negativas\" en su cerebro, son m\u00e1s propensas a sufrir una mala salud mental. Las estad\u00edsticas indican que ser testigo de la violencia dom\u00e9stica y el abuso puede llevar a tasas de suicidio 6 veces m\u00e1s altas, a tasas de abuso de drogas o alcohol 50 veces m\u00e1s altas y a una probabilidad 4 veces mayor de cometer delitos violentos.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En sus estudios sobre los efectos de la exposici\u00f3n de los ni\u00f1os a la VD y al abuso en la infancia, Cindy Sousa (2011) ha informado que la prevenci\u00f3n del abuso en la infancia y la exposici\u00f3n a la violencia dom\u00e9stica podr\u00eda disminuir el riesgo de comportamiento antisocial durante la adolescencia. He visto en mi propia pr\u00e1ctica privada que los ni\u00f1os son a menudo remitidos a m\u00ed por \"problemas de ira\" o \"ansiedad\", pero al recoger informaci\u00f3n importante de la historia social, con frecuencia han sido abusados ellos mismos o han sido testigos de VD, ya sea verbal o f\u00edsica.
