Diferentes organizaciones utilizan colores \u00fanicos para destacar y comercializar lo que defienden. El c\u00e1ncer de mama utiliza el rosa, los supervivientes del c\u00e1ncer de Livestrong van de amarillo, y la violencia dom\u00e9stica utiliza el morado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 el morado?  Para empezar, es el color de la realeza y \u00bfqui\u00e9n no querr\u00eda estar asociado a \u00e9l? Seg\u00fan History.com, se eligi\u00f3 una t\u00fanica p\u00farpura como uniforme real del rey persa Ciro.  En Roma, muchos de los emperadores optaban por llevar este color con regularidad, pero prohib\u00edan a sus ciudadanos de a pie vestirse de p\u00farpura bajo pena de muerte. Eligieron los colores p\u00farpura, blanco y dorado para vestirse cuando hicieron peticiones por su causa porque esos eran los colores del Partido Nacional de la Mujer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En julio de 1978, m\u00e1s de 100.000 mujeres se manifestaron en Washington, D.C., en apoyo de la igualdad de derechos, y muchas de ellas se vistieron de p\u00farpura y lavanda para lograr un mayor impacto visual al reunirse en apoyo de su causa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las Fuerzas Armadas de EE.UU. conceden un coraz\u00f3n p\u00farpura a quienes han sido heridos en acto de servicio. Con el tiempo, este D\u00eda de la Unidad se convirti\u00f3 en todo un Mes en 1987 y dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, el Congreso aprob\u00f3 una legislaci\u00f3n que designaba el mes de octubre como Mes de la Concienciaci\u00f3n sobre la Violencia Dom\u00e9stica. Desde entonces, el color p\u00farpura se ha universalizado en casi todas las organizaciones sin \u00e1nimo de lucro que apoyan a los supervivientes de la violencia dom\u00e9stica.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El tercer jueves de octubre se ha convertido en un d\u00eda reconocido a nivel nacional como el Jueves P\u00farpura, en el que se anima a la gente de todo el pa\u00eds a vestirse de p\u00farpura para aumentar la concienciaci\u00f3n sobre la violencia dom\u00e9stica. Tambi\u00e9n es una forma f\u00e1cil de mostrar su compromiso con la promoci\u00f3n de relaciones sanas.
